The Bhagavad Gita is a profound exploration of five fundamental truths and their interrelationships: Krishna, the individual soul, the material world, action, and time. This sacred text eloquently delves into the essence of consciousness, the self, and the universe, embodying India's spiritual wisdom.

Part of the fifth Veda, composed by the ancient Indian sage Vedavyasa and a segment of the epic Mahabharata, the Bhagavad Gita was first revealed during the Kurukshetra battle to Arjuna by Lord Krishna.

Also known simply as the Gita, this Dharmic scripture comprises 700 verses, delineating a dialogue between Arjuna and Krishna on a wide array of philosophical subjects.

Confronted with imminent war, a disheartened Arjuna seeks guidance from his charioteer Krishna on the battlefield. Throughout their dialogue in the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna imparts wisdom to Arjuna, revealing the path to devotion and selfless action. Embracing Upanishadic philosophy, the Gita integrates aspects of dualism and theism alongside rigorous monism.

Countless interpretations have emerged surrounding the Bhagavad Gita, each offering distinct perspectives on its core teachings. Beginning with Adi Sankara's commentary in the eighth century CE, commentators perceive the battlefield setting as an allegory for human life’s moral and ethical struggles. Noteworthy figures like Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi drew inspiration from its call for selfless action during India's independence movement.
